How to perform Surya Namaskar or Sun Salutation:
Step 1: Join the palm together in a standing position towards your chest, thumbs at a 90-degree angle from the fingers, pressed against the sternum. Breathe in and out while stretching the arms up, look up and bend backward gently.
Step 2: Breathe out and bend forward from the hips coming into standing forward bend. Now place the palms on the floor and place the head towards the knees or skin.
Step 3: Placed the left leg into the back, by keeping the foot straight and resting the left knee on the floor. Do drive the hips down towards the ground by bending your neck back. Drive the chest forwards, by pulling the shoulders back and opening the chest.
Step 4: Put an effort to bring the calf and thigh of the right leg together. Catch your breath, bring the right leg back, joining the feet back together, keeping the arms, legs, and back straight in plank pose. Note your feet should remain straight.
Step 5: While exhaling, first place your knees to the ground, following by the chest and the forehead, coming up into the Ashtanga position, keeping the hips and abdomen off the ground.

Step 6: While inhaling first come into the position of a cobra, straightening the arms, keeping the toes straight and legs together, knees and hips on the ground. Push the chest forward and pull the shoulders back, gazing up towards the ceiling.
Step 7: Exhale raises the hips up into downwards like a dog. Keep your arms and legs straight. Put the chin in towards the chest, push your body backward and try lower the heels to the floor. And push your forehead down towards the floor.
Step 8: Breathe in and step the right leg forward connecting the hands coming back into the half cobra position.
Step 9: While exhaling carries the left leg forwards into a position of standing forward bend.
Step 10: Breath in, Straighten the body up and come back to standing positioned with palms joined in front of your chest.
